Movement for the Defence of Public Education in the Province of Sassari

We school workers in the province of Sassari,

a result of the strong cuts applied to our region and all the Italian school situation, we have seen erased years of work and skills acquired in the field and the resulting humiliation suffered the dismissal, after dutifully contributed to the functioning of the public education system. The creation of an organized movement on a provincial basis stems from the need to defend the legitimate right to work and the quality of public schools. Ours is not only a battle for the right to work, but also and above all, a cultural battle for the defense of public education, understood as a right for all, a means of promoting cultural and social place of distribution of the fundamental principles of our Constitution.

We therefore run counter to our draft action "reform" of public schools in which si collocano la legge 133/08, l’ art.

Affermiamo con forza che questa non è una riforma: le riforme determinano positive processes of democratic progress, rather than the Government is a project of real destruction of public schools - poorly disguised as a recovery operation of the state budget - which will be pursued and achieved through interventions that have no progressive nature, and do not renew not improve the training of students. On the contrary the measures taken by the Government respond to an abstract conception of selective and non-meritocratic school, which does not take into account the different needs, needs, learning styles of the younger generation, does not value the comparison between different cultures and experiences, re-introducing elements of ethnic conflict.

complaint because not only the devastating effects of the Counter-Gelmini in schools, with the drastic downsizing of faculty and teaching staff, the increase in class size, reduction of school time, the consolidation of classes competition, the establishment of the single teacher, the cutting of support teachers, the elimination of hours available in high schools, the reduction and elimination of many subjects in secondary schools, but also the dramatic impact of the largest dismissal mass of Republican on the social fabric, and more particularly in regions already sorely tried in the south.

reclaim our dignity denied, and we reiterate our disagreement with the contracts that availability rather than give us our job offer to a narrow band of workers, just over 10% of the total duties vague and very flexible, negatively, in sottostipendi change, thus opening the door to forms of quasi-subordinate work even within the public school.

Four months of strikes and protests of all kinds do not have any way tarnished the government's determination to continue its work of destruction of the state school (the only truly public, which does not distinguish between rich and poor, among children di extracomunitari o italiani, e l’unica che tutela e che contemporaneamente si arricchisce della presenza degli alunni disabili).

We are aware that only a simple agreement between business organizations can not solve anything, so we consider it essential that the employees of the school participate in the construction of a platform, unifying all the struggles of workers in precarious employment and stable (now also sadly always more precarious due to the crisis in the economy!) in a single project for the protection of social rights, help to rebuild
sense of belonging to employment under attack.

Applications of Coordination are:

  1. the immediate withdrawal of all measures in education and research carried out by the Government, including the decree so-called "salvaprecari" and the recent counter of the university system;

  2. the abolition of the ceiling of a special education teacher for every two pupils differently disabled on a provincial basis and recovery of the exceptions to the 'allocation of additional hours for cases of severe disability (Law 224/04);

  3. the immediate withdrawal of the plan for the use of school workers parasubordinate fired;

  4. the immediate use of all workers school included in the rankings on all the available places;

  5. the establishment of a three-year plan aimed at the progressive entry into the role of all school workers and the closing of the lists are exhausted up to their true end;

  6. the construction of a school construction plan that addresses the difficult situation in which they are forced to work every day teachers and students;

  7. the withdrawal of subsidies, direct and indirect, to private schools, which steal valuable resources to public education;

  8. the preservation and protection of small local schools;

  9. law enforcement on security, maximum 25 students per class;

  10. the use of large financial resources for the gradual commissioning safety of school buildings;

  11. the duty to observe the ratings are exhausted and the conclusion of contracts by regular teachers, as the National Collective Labour recruitment in private schools;

  12. compliance with European legislation on the enhancement of the second foreign language;

  13. the conduct of hours of "Catholic" in hours of "history of religions", with the contractual terms of the teachers of these subjects than those of colleagues from different materials.

Because of major damage to the local education system, and national levels, the dramatic situation that caused the unemployment of teachers "precarious" and / or unacceptable working conditions, which often the non-payment of salary by the school, damaging the right of workers, through no fault managers but for the low, or no, resources given by the Ministry of supply reduction and loss of school hours important lesson for the elimination of the hours available in high schools, the coordination of the School of the Province of Precarious Sassari

asks
